An earthquake has struck, with tremors felt in Delhi-NCR. Reports indicate that the tremors were also experienced in Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Punjab. The epicenter of the earthquake is reported to be in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region, with a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale. The earthquake’s depth was estimated to be 33 kilometers below the surface.
Earthquakes occur due to tectonic movements. There are seven major tectonic plates inside the Earth that are constantly moving. When these plates collide, the shockwaves are felt on the surface as earthquakes.

Recently, Delhi-NCR also experienced tremors from a previous earthquake. That quake, with a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale, was so strong that it was felt in Delhi-NCR. It occurred at a depth of 255 kilometers and hit Afghanistan at 11:26 AM local time, affecting Delhi as well.
People Panic and Evacuate
The tremors caused panic in Delhi-NCR and other cities across the country. In Jaipur, many people rushed out of their homes in fear. Similarly, in Jammu and Kashmir, there was a sense of dread among residents. However, there are no reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake so far.
