    Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh has once again instructed the Public Works Department (PWD) to make all roads in the state pothole-free. He has set a deadline of October 10 for this task. In addition, the CM has directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials not to collect toll tax on incomplete highways. He also emphasized the need for geo-tagging of all road construction and repairs and linking them with the PM Gati Shakti portal.

    CM Yogi Reviews the Pothole-Free Road Campaign

    In a meeting with various departments, CM Yogi reviewed the special campaign to make roads pothole-free. He highlighted the upcoming festivals and the expected arrival of foreign tourists, stressing the importance of providing a smooth and enjoyable travel experience for all visitors. He directed officials to ensure that rural roads are constructed using full-depth reclamation technology.

    Key Departments in the Review Meeting

    The review meeting included officials from the Public Works Department, Panchayati Raj Department, Mandi Parishad, Irrigation Department, Rural Development Department, Urban Development Department, Housing and Urban Planning Department, Sugarcane Department, and Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department. CM Yogi instructed that road-building companies and contractors must take responsibility for the maintenance of the roads for the next five years.

    He also pointed out that unorganized work on roads increases the risk of accidents, and improvements must be made to ensure safety. Additionally, after laying sewer and pipelines, proper repair of the roads must be carried out.
