WhatsApp is set to introduce a major update for iOS users. The messaging platform will soon replace the green verification badge with a blue badge for verified business accounts and channels. This feature is currently in development and will be available to iOS users soon. The update has already been rolled out on Android.
Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, is making this change to ensure that verified accounts across its platforms—WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram—have a consistent look. This will help users easily recognize verified accounts and avoid confusion caused by different badge colors.
With the new update, iOS users will see a blue badge for verified channels and businesses, matching the blue verification badge used on Meta’s other platforms. This will enhance the authenticity of the channels in users’ eyes.
The latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS includes this feature, but it is not yet available to all users. It is expected to be rolled out to everyone in the coming weeks.
In other updates, WhatsApp is also planning to add a significant AI feature to the platform. The company is testing a new feature for Meta AI, which will allow users to send voice messages to the chatbot. Meta AI is expected to be capable of responding to messages in text format. This feature is currently being tested with a small group of beta testers and may be available to a larger user base in the near future.
