Young cricketer Vaibhav Suryawanshi has become one of the most talked-about names in Indian cricket. At first, he made headlines because of doubts about his age, but now he is making news for his explosive batting. When Rajasthan Royals bought him in the IPL, his age was mentioned as 13 years, and he made his debut at just 14 years old. In his very first season, Vaibhav created history by scoring one of the fastest centuries in IPL history. He now stands second on the list, just behind the legendary Chris Gayle.
Nitish Rana’s Comment on Vaibhav’s Age
Even though Vaibhav’s family had already shown his birth certificate to clear the doubts, discussions about his age still continue. Recently, Delhi Premier League-winning captain Nitish Rana gave a cheeky comment during an interview.
When asked about Vaibhav, Rana laughed and said:
“Is he really 14 or not?”
Later, he added that it was just a joke.
Despite the fun remark, Vaibhav’s rise is remarkable. He smashed a brilliant 101 runs from just 38 balls in the IPL and has now been selected for India’s U-19 tour of England as well as the upcoming series against Australia U-19.
What Rana Said About Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag
Apart from Vaibhav, Nitish Rana also shared his thoughts on other Rajasthan Royals players.
- On Sanju Samson: Rana joked, “Where will he play next year?” – hinting at the ongoing rumors about Sanju possibly leaving the Royals before the next IPL season.
- On Riyan Parag: Rana said, “He is not the way people see him on TV. In real life, he is very soft-spoken and polite. Maybe his on-field attitude is misunderstood, but he is actually a good person.”
In short, Vaibhav Suryawanshi may still face questions about his age, but his batting talent has already made him one of the brightest young stars in cricket.
