New Delhi, July 25, 2026: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday announced the end of its protest at Jantar Mantar after reaching an agreement with the Central government during the third round of negotiations. Party leaders said the Centre had accepted all of their key demands, prompting protesters to call off the agitation.
The decision was announced at a joint press conference attended by Union Ministers Jitendra Singh and J.P. Nadda, along with senior CJP representatives.
Dharmendra Pradhan Resignation Among Key Outcomes
Addressing the media, CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the protest was launched with three major demands, the first being the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
According to Ranka, the minister’s resignation has now taken place, fulfilling one of the party’s primary demands.
“Our discussions with the government were held in three phases, and the Centre has agreed to our demands. Since the first demand has already been met, we believe the negotiations have been successful,” he said.
Centre Assures Withdrawal of FIRs
CJP leader Saurav Das said the government has also agreed to withdraw all criminal cases registered against protesters and organisers during the agitation.
He stated that the assurance applies not only to Delhi but also to BJP-ruled and BJP-supported states where cases were filed.
According to Das, government officials have promised to provide copies of all FIRs within the next few days. He added that approximately 15 to 20 FIRs were registered in Delhi during the course of the protest.
Written Guarantee to Be Issued
The party said it has submitted a draft seeking a formal written guarantee regarding the withdrawal of cases and protection from any future legal action against those involved in the protest.
CJP leaders said the Centre has agreed to respond with a written assurance by Tuesday, after which the legal process is expected to move forward.
Protesters Asked to Return Home
With the Centre agreeing to its demands, the Cockroach Janta Party has appealed to all supporters to peacefully end the protest and return home.
Ranka thanked protesters for their support and said the organisation would announce its future plans at an appropriate time.
Demands Raised by the Cockroach Janta Party
The protest was centred around three key demands:
- Resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
- Withdrawal of all FIRs filed against protesters and organisers, along with assurance that no fresh cases would be registered.
- Compensation of ₹1 crore for the families of those who allegedly lost loved ones following the cancellation or non-conduct of the NEET examination.
The agreement brings an end to the Jantar Mantar protest after several days of demonstrations and negotiations between the Centre and the Cockroach Janta Party.
