A Breakthrough Film for Director Aditya Suhas Jambhale
The film marked the first feature-length directorial venture of Aditya Suhas Jambhale. His handling of a politically sensitive subject with a fast-paced narrative drew appreciation across the industry.
The success of Article 370 also earned Jambhale the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director, making his debut one of the most notable in recent years.
Aditya Dhar’s Vision Behind the Film
Acclaimed filmmaker Aditya Dhar, known for directing Uri: The Surgical Strike, played a key creative role in Article 370. Apart from producing the film, he co-developed its story and screenplay.
The screenplay and story were crafted by Aditya Dhar, Monal Thaakar, Arjun Dhawan, and Aditya Suhas Jambhale. Dhar and Thaakar had earlier won the Filmfare Award for Best Story for the film.

Story Inspired by a Historic Decision
Article 370 is inspired by the events surrounding the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, which ended the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir.
The story follows NIA officer Zooni Haksar, who is assigned to neutralize security threats while the government prepares to implement one of India’s most significant constitutional decisions. Although inspired by real events, the film presents a fictional narrative built around them.
Strong Performance at the Box Office
Released globally on February 23, 2024, Article 370 was reportedly made on a budget of approximately ₹20 crore.
The film exceeded expectations by collecting over ₹110 crore worldwide, proving to be both a critical and commercial success.
