Rolls-Royce Plans to Strengthen Ties with India

Rolls-Royce, a major company in the defense and aerospace sector, plans to double its supply chain sourcing from India in the next five years. The company aims to increase its involvement in India’s defense sector by sourcing complex parts for advanced aerospace engines, naval propulsion systems, diesel engines, and gas turbines.

India Already Supplies Key Parts

Rolls-Royce shared that many Indian partners already supply parts for its civil aerospace, defense, and power systems businesses. However, the company did not reveal the total value of these supplies.

India: A Preferred Sourcing Hub

Nicola Grady-Smith, Chief Transformation Officer at Rolls-Royce, stated that India is emerging as a preferred global sourcing hub. She emphasized that the company wants to support India’s ‘Make in India for the World’ vision by expanding partnerships and boosting business growth.

Focus on Strengthening Partnerships

Grady-Smith highlighted that Rolls-Royce has already helped improve India’s manufacturing capabilities to meet global quality standards. The company now plans to strengthen relationships with existing and new Indian partners to develop complex engine components locally for the global market.

Existing Partnerships in India

Rolls-Royce actively collaborates with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Force Motors Limited. It also sources parts from companies like Tata, Bharat Forge, and Godrej & Boyce to support its global business operations.

By strengthening its ties with India, Rolls-Royce aims to be a bigger part of India’s growing manufacturing and defense sectors.
