Uddhav Thackeray Blames Congress for AAP’s Defeat in Delhi

Delhi Election Results:
In the Delhi Assembly elections, Uddhav Thackeray blamed Congress for the defeat of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Through an editorial in Shiv Sena (UBT)’s mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, Congress faced heavy criticism. Thackeray agreed with Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah, who expressed frustration over the rivalry between AAP and Congress, saying it only made BJP’s victory easier.

Congress Contributed to AAP’s Defeat

The editorial highlighted Omar Abdullah’s statement: “Fight with each other and destroy one another.” It claimed Congress contributed to AAP’s loss in 14 seats in Delhi, similar to what happened in Haryana. Saamana questioned, “What did Congress gain by fighting AAP?”

Does Congress Intentionally Harm Rahul Gandhi’s Image?

Saamana further criticized Congress, stating: “Is there a hidden force within Congress that always damages Rahul Gandhi’s reputation?” It added that if Congress leaders believe they have no responsibility to help AAP win, then it’s arrogance. The editorial questioned, “Is it Congress’ job to help Modi and Shah’s authoritarian rule by fighting among themselves?”

AAP and Congress Hurt Each Other

It said that AAP and Congress fought only to destroy each other, creating space for Modi and Shah. Saamana warned, “If this continues, then what’s the point of alliances? Fight as much as you want! But don’t forget that this will help dictators win.”

Criticism Over Maharashtra Politics

Saamana also raised concerns about the seat-sharing issues in Maharashtra among the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) allies, accusing local Congress leaders of delaying decisions and creating confusion until the last minute.

The editorial ended with a stern warning that if lessons are not learned, democracy will suffer, and BJP’s dominance will only grow.
