CM Mohan Yadav Announces Major Development Projects in Ujjain

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced funding of ₹10 crore for the construction of a new Panchayat Bhavan in Ujjain district. Additionally, he allocated ₹1 crore for improving facilities for the Panchkroshi Yatra.

Key Announcements

During the event, CM Yadav emphasized the need to build Panchayat Bhavans in villages where none currently exist. He also sanctioned ₹5 crore for other development projects in the region.

The Panchkroshi Yatra, a 120-kilometer pilgrimage route in Ujjain, will benefit from the additional funding for better facilities.

Changes in Local Governance

The Ujjain Janpad Panchayat recently saw a leadership change. Bhanwar Bai Dule Singh Chaudhary from the BJP took over as the new chairperson after a legal battle. Previously, the Congress had control of the position. The High Court’s order led to re-elections, where Bhanwar Bai was elected unopposed.

Background of the Election Dispute

In July 2022, elections for the president and vice president of the Janpad Panchayat were held. Bhanwar Bai, the BJP candidate, lost at that time. She later approached the court, which ordered fresh elections. As a result, the Congress-backed candidate was removed, and Bhanwar Bai took over the position without opposition.

This leadership change is expected to strengthen development efforts in the Ujjain district under BJP’s governance.
