Vivo is preparing to introduce the Vivo V80 in India on October 6. The upcoming V-series smartphone is being positioned around photography, battery life and display performance, with several hardware upgrades and new AI-powered features.
The company has confirmed that the India launch event will begin at 12 PM on October 6, 2026. Vivo is expected to announce the phone’s pricing, variants and availability details during the event.
Vivo V80: Camera Specifications
Photography is at the centre of the Vivo V80’s feature set. The smartphone has been developed with ZEISS and will include multiple 50-megapixel cameras.
At the back, the primary camera will use a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700V sensor and support optical image stabilisation (OIS). The setup will also include a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera based on the Sony IMX882 sensor.
The telephoto camera offers 3x optical zoom with OIS, while the overall camera system is capable of reaching up to 100x zoom. A ZEISS ultra-wide camera will also be included for wider shots.
On the front, Vivo is adding a 50MP ZEISS Group Selfie camera with autofocus and a 92-degree field of view.
4K Recording and AI-Powered Photography
The Vivo V80 is not limited to still photography. Vivo says the phone will support 4K Cinematic Video as well as 4K recording at 60 frames per second.
The company has also announced more than 30 AI-based creative features. Among these is AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, which is designed to enhance festive portraits by adjusting details such as lighting, rangoli and toran elements.
Additional AI features include Pet Pals, Snap Note and Security Shield. Users will also be able to create social-media content using tools such as Live Sticker Collage.
Vivo V80 Display Details
The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz.
The screen supports 1.07 billion colours and is claimed to reach a local peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. Vivo has also included a low-brightness mode capable of reducing the screen brightness to around 1 nit.
The display will have slim 1.25mm bezels, giving the phone a more immersive appearance.
Design and Colour Options
Vivo is giving the V80 a new exterior design featuring a one-piece cold-carved glass back and a floating-style camera module.
The phone will be sold in three finishes:
- Sunrise Anthem
- Horizon Blue
- Stellar Black
These colour options are expected to be available in India following the launch, although Vivo may announce availability for individual variants at the event.
7,200mAh Battery With 90W Charging
One of the biggest upgrades on the Vivo V80 is its battery. The smartphone will feature a 7,200mAh battery, which Vivo describes as the largest battery used in a V-series phone so far.
The company claims the battery can deliver up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and as much as 39.5 hours of local video playback.
Charging will be handled by Vivo’s 90W FlashCharge technology. Vivo says the phone can reach approximately 50% charge in around 30 minutes with Fast Charging Mode enabled.
OriginOS 7 and Other Features
The Vivo V80 will come with OriginOS 7, Vivo’s latest software experience. The software will work alongside the phone’s AI features and photography tools.
The combination of AI-powered editing tools, high-resolution cameras and 4K recording makes the V80 particularly focused on users who regularly create photos and videos for social media.
Vivo V80 Price in India
Vivo has not announced the official price of the V80 in India yet. Some earlier reports have indicated that the smartphone could cost more than ₹55,000, but this should be treated as an expected price rather than confirmed information.
The official pricing and storage configurations are expected to be announced on October 6.
