Veteran Hindi film actor Mushtaq Khan has died at the age of 56, leaving fans and the entertainment industry mourning the loss of a familiar face from Indian cinema. The actor was widely recognised for his supporting performances in movies such as Welcome, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Gadar 2 and Stree 2.
The news of his death emerged on Thursday, September 24, 2026. According to reports, Mushtaq Khan had been undergoing treatment for lung cancer and was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after his condition became critical.
Mushtaq Khan Dies After Cancer Relapse
Mushtaq Khan had reportedly been diagnosed with lung cancer earlier and had undergone treatment. His business partner Shiv told HT City that the actor had recovered previously, but the illness returned shortly before his death.
According to the report, the cancer relapsed around eight days before his passing. Mushtaq was subsequently admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai and was being treated in the ICU.
His business partner confirmed that the actor died at approximately 7 pm on Thursday.
