UP Milkipur Bypoll 2024: The upcoming by-election for the Milkipur seat in Uttar Pradesh is becoming a significant challenge for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Internal conflicts within the party have emerged, posing a risk to their campaign. On Wednesday, former MP Lallu Singh publicly accused a fellow BJP leader of being a criminal and boycotted the party’s event.
The Milkipur seat is crucial for the BJP, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has personally taken responsibility for winning it. However, the factionalism within the party could hinder their efforts.
Internal Strife Intensifies
On Thursday, BJP held a membership drive event in Ayodhya, where Lallu Singh walked out, stating he could not share the stage with “mafia” figures. It is believed he was referring to BJP leader Shivendra Singh. Political analysts warn that if the party leadership does not address this conflict, winning the Milkipur by-election will be challenging.

The internal issues come at a critical time, as the BJP is focused on preparing for the by-election. The party aims to win this seat to counter the loss they faced in the Faizabad seat during the last Lok Sabha elections. They hope this victory will send a strong political message across the state. However, the situation within the party mirrors the problems they faced during the Lok Sabha elections.
The BJP is describing Lallu Singh’s dissatisfaction as a personal issue, but sources suggest that Singh’s displeasure is directed more towards a specific BJP leader rather than the party as a whole. Singh has not shown signs of backing down and plans to continue raising these issues.
