Mumbai residents will soon get their second airport as the Navi Mumbai International Airport is set to open in June 2025. Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has officially announced the launch date. He said that this airport will redefine connectivity and growth in the country.
Adani Visits Airport Site
Gautam Adani recently visited the Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL) site and met with the project teams. He also shared a short video on his social media, calling the upcoming airport a “true gift for India.”
In his post, Adani wrote,
“I visited the Navi Mumbai International Airport site today. A world-class airport is taking shape here. This airport will be ready for inauguration in June and will redefine connectivity and growth. Congratulations to the Adani Airports team and all partners for making this vision a reality.”
Successful Test Flight Conducted
- In December 2024, a commercial test flight successfully landed at NMIAL.
- An IndiGo A320 aircraft was the first to land at Runway 08/26 for testing.
- The test was monitored by key aviation authorities, including:
- DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation)
- AAI (Airports Authority of India)
- CISF (Central Industrial Security Force)
- BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security)
- IMD (India Meteorological Department)
