Jasprit Bumrah, a star Indian fast bowler, has made some bold statements about cricket rules. He believes that two rules in cricket should be removed: the no-ball rule and the free-hit rule.
Bumrah, who has strengthened India’s bowling attack, said in an interview with Indian Express that he supports bowlers. He thinks that while India loves its big batsmen, bowlers play a crucial role in winning matches.
He praised Test cricket, saying that if a player excels in red-ball cricket, they will also perform well in white-ball formats. Bumrah believes that Test cricket, which was shown more on TV in his generation, is still the most important format.
Regarding cricket rules, Bumrah stated, “I think the no-ball and free-hit rules should be removed.” He feels that these rules create unfair advantages for batsmen.
So far, Bumrah has played 36 Test matches for India, taking 159 wickets in 69 innings, with an average of 20.7. He has achieved the milestone of taking five wickets in an innings ten times.
