Director Nag Ashwin‘s sci-fi spectacle Kalki 2898 AD shattered several box office records with its worldwide release, but it has become crippled on weekdays after enjoying a fantastic second weekend. Featuring a star-studded ensemble including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, the film now faces doubts about whether it will be able to cross the Rs 1000 crore mark in India.
According to Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD saw a massive drop of 76 percent in collections on Monday compared to its second Sunday earnings. It further suffered a 13 percent drop on Tuesday. The majority of revenues came from Hindi-speaking regions, surpassing its Telugu counterparts. The film earned just Rs 9 crore on its 13th day, with contributions as follows: Telugu Rs 2.05 crore, Tamil Rs 0.6 crore, Hindi Rs 5.75 crore, Kannada Rs 0.1 crore, and Malayalam Rs 0.5 crore.
The total net collection of Kalki 2898 AD now stands at an impressive Rs 529.45 crore, with contributions from different regions: Telugu: Rs 250.25 crore, Tamil: Rs 31 crore, Hindi: Rs 224.65 crore, Kannada: Rs 4.25 crore, and Malayalam: Rs 19.3 crore.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD has breached the Rs 900 crore milestone in global box office earnings. Regarded as India’s most expensive film with a reported budget of Rs 600 crore, this mythological and sci-fi extravaganza was released globally on June 27 in six languages. The film also features Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, and Shobhana in pivotal roles.
