Team India is currently resting after the recent series in Sri Lanka under new head coach Gautam Gambhir. India will directly play the Test series against Bangladesh, starting on September 19. As the series approaches, the Indian team will be announced. Four players are expected to return to the Test team for this series: Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, R. Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja.
4 Players Returning:
- Jasprit Bumrah, R. Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja last played a Test match in March this year.
- Mohammed Shami played his last Test match in June of last year. If he is selected for the Bangladesh series, he will be playing a Test match after 15 months.

- R. Ashwin will only play in red-ball cricket (Test matches). After playing the home series against England in March, he will now be seen playing the Test series against Bangladesh.
- Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja played the Test series against England in March this year and were also part of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup. Important for WTC Final:
The Test series against Bangladesh is important for securing a spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) final. The return of Shami, Bumrah, Ashwin, and Jadeja will be crucial for India.
