Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King is already creating excitement among moviegoers, and its first released song has added to the buzz. Titled Tu Mil Jaaye, the romantic track has reportedly crossed 36.3 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its release, setting a new record for a song from an Indian film.
The song was released on November 2, marking Shah Rukh Khan’s 61st birthday. Featuring Shah Rukh Khan alongside Deepika Padukone, the track received considerable attention from fans shortly after its launch.
With 36.3 million views in its first 24 hours, Tu Mil Jaaye has surpassed the previous record held by another Shah Rukh Khan song, Zinda Banda from the 2023 action film Jawan. That track had registered approximately 34.6 million views during its first day on YouTube.
Although the latest achievement puts Tu Mil Jaaye ahead of other Indian film songs in the category, it has not broken the overall record for music releases. Badshah’s independent song Paagal continues to lead that ranking with 75 million views in 24 hours.
Star-Studded Musical Collaboration
Apart from the lead actors, the song has attracted attention for its musical lineup. Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi have contributed vocals, while British singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran is associated with the rap segment.
The music has been composed by Sachin-Jigar, and Kumaar has written the lyrics. The collaboration has brought together established names from different parts of the music industry.
While the song has received a strong response in terms of views, audience reactions have been varied. Many fans have appreciated the pairing of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, while some social media users have drawn comparisons between the song’s visual style and the actor’s earlier releases, including Pathaan and Jawan.
What to Know About Shah Rukh Khan’s Upcoming Film King
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King marks another collaboration between the filmmaker and Shah Rukh Khan after Pathaan. The film features a large ensemble cast, including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Raghav Juyal, Arshad Warsi and Jaideep Ahlawat.
The project has also attracted attention because it brings Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan together in the same film.
King is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 24, 2026. The release will take place a week after two major Hollywood films, Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three, are scheduled to hit theatres.
With its first song generating millions of views shortly after release, the film has already started building anticipation ahead of its theatrical debut.
