Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros Box Office Collections – Massive Hit Alert! Crosses ₹43 Crore Worldwide in Just 3 Days

The much-awaited Malayalam sequel Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros (also known as Vaazha II) has taken the box office by storm since its theatrical release on April 2, 2026 (Thursday). Directed by Savin S.A. and written by Vipin Das, the coming-of-age comedy-drama stars Hashir (in the lead), along with Ajin Joy, Alan Bin Siraj, Vinayak, and others in key roles. It follows the lives of four young friends navigating school, struggles, sibling bonds, and aimless youth in a Kerala town – a spiritual successor to the 2024 hit Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys.

With positive word-of-mouth, strong occupancy, and a modest budget of around ₹10 crore, the film has already emerged as a commercial blockbuster. It is currently the second highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2026 and is on track to surpass its predecessor’s lifetime collections in record time.

Day-Wise India Net Collections (as per Sacnilk estimates)

  • Day 1 (April 2, Thursday): ₹4.75 crore (1,173 shows, ~64% occupancy)
  • Day 2 (April 3, Friday): ₹5.15–5.25 crore (~8–10% growth, 1,233 shows, ~74% occupancy)
  • Day 3 (April 4, Saturday): ₹7.00 crore (33.3% jump, 1,629 shows)

India Net Total (3 days): ₹17 crore India Gross Total: ₹19.72 crore

Kerala alone delivered a historic opening with ₹5.20 crore gross on Day 1 – the biggest opener ever for a Malayalam film with debutant leads, beating the 8-year-old record of Aadhi (2018).

Worldwide Gross Collections

  • After Day 1: ~₹5.38 crore
  • After Day 2: ₹21.48–21.8 crore (Overseas gross crossed ₹10 crore)
  • After Day 3: ₹42.97–43.70 crore (Overseas added a massive ₹10 crore on Day 3 alone, taking overseas gross to ₹23.25 crore)

The film is showing exceptional growth even amid competition from releases like Aadu 3 and Dhurandhar 2. Evening and night shows have been particularly strong, with Malayalam 2D occupancy averaging over 70% on Day 2.

Box Office Verdict So Far

With ₹17 crore net in India in just three days (against a ₹10 crore budget), Vaazha 2 has already achieved a clean hit status and is racing toward a blockbuster verdict. It only needs modest collections on Day 4 (Sunday, April 5 – Easter weekend) and the coming weekdays to comfortably enter the ₹25 crore+ India net club in the extended opening weekend.

Compared to the first Vaazha (which collected ~₹23.46 crore net India and ₹40 crore+ worldwide in its full run), the sequel is moving at lightning speed. Positive reviews praising the relatable story, performances, music, and emotional depth are driving repeat audiences.

Why Vaazha 2 is Dominating

  • Relatable “billion bros” bromance and coming-of-age themes hitting the right chord with youth and families.
  • Strong Kerala base + solid overseas numbers (especially Gulf and other markets).
  • Excellent weekend growth despite a crowded April 2026 release window.
  • Cast of fresh faces (Hashir and team) delivering breakout performances.

As of April 5, 2026 (Sunday evening), early trends suggest another solid day is underway. The film is expected to cross ₹45–50 crore worldwide by the end of the extended weekend.

Vaazha 2 is not just a sequel – it’s proving to be a full-fledged Mollywood success story in 2026. Watch this space for further updates as the collections keep climbing!
