After several changes to its release schedule, Yash’s upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups has officially secured a new theatrical release date. The much-anticipated pan-India project is now set to arrive in cinemas across the globe on August 26.
The film, produced by Monster Mind Creations in collaboration with KVN Productions, was announced in 2023 and began principal photography in October 2024. Since then, the project has remained one of the most talked-about releases among Yash’s fans.
Toxic was originally expected to debut in April 2025, but production-related challenges led to a postponement. The makers later selected March 19, 2026, for release, aiming to capitalize on a major festive period that included Eid, Gudi Padwa, and Ugadi celebrations.
Despite the revised plans, the film faced another setback and was moved from its scheduled June 4 release. The production team explained that additional time was needed to streamline international distribution and strengthen global partnerships before bringing the film to audiences worldwide.
In a statement, the makers said the project has been completed and that efforts are currently focused on ensuring a coordinated global launch. As a result, the previously announced release date was dropped in favor of a later rollout.
Yash had earlier spoken about the delays, acknowledging that fans often expect a film to be released within a certain timeframe after shooting begins. He noted that extended waits can naturally create disappointment among audiences eager to watch the project.
Helmed by filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is being filmed in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth.
With its new release date now confirmed, anticipation is once again building around the action-packed drama, which is expected to be one of the biggest Indian theatrical releases of the year.
