Mumbai: The makers of Awarapan 2 have released the film’s first song, Yeh Awarapan, offering fans an emotional glimpse into Emraan Hashmi’s character, Shivam. Sung by Arijit Singh, the soulful track captures the pain of love, heartbreak, and loss ahead of the film’s theatrical release.
Emraan Hashmi’s Shivam Battles Heartbreak
The newly released music video follows Shivam as he struggles to cope with the loss of his beloved, played by Disha Patani. The visuals portray his loneliness and emotional turmoil, with every passing day reminding him of the memories they once shared.
The song’s melancholic mood perfectly complements the film’s emotional storyline, making it one of the most anticipated tracks from the sequel.
Arijit Singh Lends His Voice to the Soulful Melody

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui, Awarapan 2 is being produced by Vishesh Bhatt under the Vishesh Films banner.
The sequel follows the legacy of the 2007 film Awarapan, directed by Mohit Suri. Although the original movie did not perform strongly at the box office, it later achieved cult status thanks to its emotional story, memorable soundtrack, and Emraan Hashmi’s performance.
Sequel Was Announced in 2025
Emraan Hashmi officially announced Awarapan 2 in March 2025 through a teaser that recreated one of the most iconic moments from the original film. The teaser featured Shivam releasing pigeons into the sky while the classic song Tera Mera Rishta played in the background, instantly bringing back memories for longtime fans.
The film’s soundtrack will also feature music composed by Mithoon and lyrics by Sayeed Quadri, continuing the musical legacy associated with the franchise.
Release Date
Awarapan 2 is set to hit theatres on August 14. The film will face box-office competition from Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947, setting up one of the biggest Bollywood clashes of the Independence Day weekend.
With the release of Yeh Awarapan, the makers have successfully built excitement for the sequel, while fans eagerly await Emraan Hashmi’s return as Shivam nearly two decades after the original film.
