A defeat made Anandpal Singh a criminal!
Lad is a taluk of Nagaur district of Rajasthan. Anandpal Singh was a resident of Sanvard village in Ladnun. He was also well educated and did his B.Ed. However, instead of becoming a teacher, he entered politics in the year 2000, after contesting elections and becoming a Zilla Panchayat member, he dreamed of becoming a Zilla Panchayat President.
He contested for District Panchayat President, but lost by just 2 votes. He could not digest this defeat. In the year 2006, Anandpal Singh committed the first murder. The murder took place in Didwana and the name of the deceased was Jeevanram Godara.
This was the same Jeevanram Godara, who was a friend of Anandpal Singh. Anandpal Singh was able to get married only because of this Jeevan Ram. But Anandpal, who entered the world of crime with the intention of making a name for himself, had his first enmity with a friend and Jeevanram Godara was killed in this enmity.
The massacre made Anandpal famous throughout Rajasthan, leading to a three-day curfew in Didwana. Then Anandpal Singh never looked back. He went on to commit one murder after another. People joined his gang. Gradually he started doing everything from liquor smuggling to robbery. By then his gang had become an army of over 100 people.
Anandpal escaped from the clutches of the police
To increase his terror, Anandpal killed a person named Nanu Ram in the year 2006 itself. Not only this, acid was poured on his body and burnt. Anandpal was also arrested in 2012 on the charge of this murder. Was in jail for three years. Then in 2015, when Didwana returned from a court appearance, his gang fired AK-47s at policemen and chased them away. From then on he became more dangerous. The police had also put a reward of Rs 5 lakh on him.
Police teams continued to search in Rajasthan. And in the meantime the police came to know about his farm house, which was built on about 10 bighas. Bunkers were built in these farm houses built in the middle of fields, holes were made in the walls to fire guns. And in the basement was an iron cage, in which Anandapala used to imprison and torture his enemies.
