Amid discussions about a potential alliance between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Haryana, former Home Minister Anil Vij has made a significant statement. Vij claimed that Congress is unable to fight the elections on its own. He pointed out that Congress leaders used to boast about having enough candidates for elections, but now they are discussing alliances.
Vij criticized Congress, saying that they must be struggling to fill their candidate slots. He noted that only weak parties seek support from outside, suggesting that Congress lacks the strength to contest the Haryana elections independently. This, according to Vij, is why they are considering an alliance with AAP.

In response, former MP and Congress leader Brijendra Singh stated that given the current ground realities in Haryana, Congress does not need an alliance. However, if the party leadership decides otherwise, it will be accepted by everyone. Singh also criticized BJP, saying that a party that ruled for 10 years is now struggling to find candidates and is relying on a party (JJP) that has lost its own relevance. This reflects the true situation of BJP in the state.
Sources indicate that Rahul Gandhi is in favor of an alliance between Congress and AAP in Haryana. If this happens, it will be the first time Congress and AAP will come together for state elections. In previous elections, Congress and AAP had an alliance for the Lok Sabha polls in Delhi, Haryana, and Gujarat.
