Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has responded to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) action, saying that it is an old case and he has no involvement in it.
The ED has seized assets worth ₹834 crore in a money laundering case involving Hooda and EMAAR-MGF Developments Ltd., among others. These assets are located in 20 villages in Gurugram and Delhi.
The allegation is that EMAAR-MGF, in collusion with Hooda and Director DTCP Trilok Chand Gupta, acquired land at cheap rates, causing losses to both the public and the government.
Anil Vij’s Criticism
Following the ED’s action, BJP has intensified its attack on Hooda. On Friday, August 30, BJP senior leader and former Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij criticized Hooda, saying, “This ED case against Bhupinder Singh Hooda is very serious. This person is still dreaming of becoming Chief Minister!”

Vij added, “He has troubled farmers by applying Sections 4 and 6. Farmers used to sell their land cheaply, and the builder mafia would buy it. This is a huge scandal, and Hooda was involved, along with some of his officials.”
Vij emphasized that Haryana should not be under Hooda’s control and noted that the case has been ongoing in court for a long time. He pointed out that the FIR was not registered during the election period and the case is still being heard in the CBI court.
In Haryana, elections are set for October 1. Before the polls, BJP is highlighting corruption issues related to Congress, while Congress is focusing on unemployment, Agniveer, and crime to garner votes, buoyed by its success in the Lok Sabha elections.
