Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi stated on August 22, 2024, that China prefers Donald Trump to become the President of the United States. He referenced a Chinese book to support his claim, suggesting that China wants Trump to win the presidential election for the Republican Party.

Krishnamoorthi, who is a senior member of a committee on China in the House of Representatives, spoke at the Democratic National Conference in Chicago. He mentioned that a top Chinese leader wrote a book titled America Against America, which argues that America can be defeated by internal division.

Krishnamoorthi explained that China sees Trump as someone who will start endless trade wars, increase prices for Americans, and cut funding for worker training programs in the US. He believes that Trump will create divisions among Americans, which China aims to exploit.

He added, “The only way to defeat us is to have us defeat ourselves. But we will not let that happen. Kamala Harris has said that when we fight together, we win. She knows that as a nation, and as a team, we succeed. That is why when Kamala Harris wins in November, we will win too.”
