Mukesh Ambani had held this position for a long time, but now Gautam Adani has taken the top spot. The list, based on data from July 31, 2024, includes a total of 1,539 Indians with wealth exceeding 1,000 crore rupees. Gautam Adani leads the list, with Mukesh Ambani in second place. Last year, a new billionaire was added in India every five days.
Gautam Adani’s Wealth
According to the Hurun India Rich List 2024, Gautam Adani, aged 62, now has a net worth of 1,61,800 crore rupees. Mukesh Ambani, in second place, has a net worth of 1,01,47,000 crore rupees. In third place is Shiv Nadar of HCL, with a net worth of 3,14,000 crore rupees. Cyrus Poonawalla is fourth, with a net worth of 2,89,900 crore rupees. Dilip Shanghvi of Sun Pharma is fifth, with a net worth of 2,49,900 crore rupees.
Kumar Mangalam Birla is sixth, with a net worth of 2,35,200 crore rupees. Gopichand Hinduja of the Hinduja Group is seventh, with a net worth of 1,92,700 crore rupees. Radhakrishnan Damani is eighth, with a net worth of 1,90,900 crore rupees. Azim Premji is ninth, with a net worth of 1,90,700 crore rupees. Neeraj Bajaj is tenth, with a net worth of 1,62,800 crore rupees.
Shah Rukh Khan Makes the List
Shah Rukh Khan, the king of the Indian entertainment industry, has also made it to the list of billionaires for the first time. His wealth is reported to be 7,300 crore rupees. Khan’s wealth is attributed to his stakes in Kolkata Knight Riders and Red Chillies Entertainment. Besides Shah Rukh Khan, the list also includes stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla and her family, Karan Johar, and Hrithik Roshan.
