In the Kolkata case from August 9, where a trainee doctor was raped and murdered in a hospital, the CBI has confirmed that only one person, Sanjay Roy, was involved. The agency has dismissed claims that there was a gang rape.
According to NDTV, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has rejected the gang rape theory, as evidence indicates that Sanjay Roy, who has been arrested, was the only person involved in the brutal assault and murder at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
CBI Investigation Progress
The CBI’s investigation is in its “final stage,” and the agency is expected to file a charge sheet soon. Sources say the CBI has recorded over 100 statements and conducted polygraph tests on about 10 suspects, including former hospital principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh. There is no evidence pointing to a gang rape.

Questions About Site Repair
Documents obtained by the CBI show that Dr. Sandeep Ghosh instructed the state’s Public Works Department (PWD) to repair the area around the crime scene a day after the victim’s body was found. The body was discovered on the morning of August 9 in a seminar room at the hospital. Ghosh authorized repairs in a room and a toilet adjacent to the seminar hall, the site where the crime occurred.
