In the run-up to the Delhi Assembly Election 2025, senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and candidate from Jangpura, Manish Sisodia, made serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday (February 3). He claimed that the people of Delhi have already decided to re-elect Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister, but the BJP is still resorting to hooliganism.
Sisodia said that the election is being fought on issues like education, healthcare, electricity, water, and development, but the BJP is trying to intimidate people into voting for them. He alleged that BJP members are threatening AAP supporters by visiting their homes. “BJP goons are asking people why they met me, why they wore a garland for me, and why they promised to vote for me,” he said.
BJP Trying to Intimidate AAP Workers
Manish Sisodia condemned the BJP’s behavior as undemocratic and advised them to learn to respect the public. He emphasized that elections should not be fought through threats or money, but for the development of the people. AAP’s focus, he said, is to provide quality education, better hospitals, affordable electricity, and clean water to the people of Delhi.
Sisodia added, “BJP is misusing the police to intimidate AAP workers, but we are not afraid. Our workers follow the thoughts of Bhagat Singh and the principles of Babasaheb Ambedkar. They will not be intimidated by BJP’s threats.”
Kejriwal Government’s Achievements Speak for Themselves
The AAP leader also highlighted the achievements of the Kejriwal government in Delhi, noting that the party won big in the 2015 and 2020 elections. During these years, the Kejriwal government improved government schools, opened Mohalla Clinics, provided free electricity up to 200 units, and made bus rides free for women. These initiatives, he claimed, are why the people of Delhi trust AAP again.
Manish Sisodia concluded, “No matter how much the BJP tries, the people have already decided to bring Kejriwal back as Chief Minister. It would be better for the BJP to believe in democracy.”
