Producer Gives Fresh Update on Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ Release After Oath Ceremony

Hours after Vijay took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, a new update regarding his upcoming film Jana Nayagan grabbed attention among fans.

Film producer K Venkat Narayana, who attended the swearing-in event in Chennai, confirmed that the movie is ready for release and is currently waiting for certification approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Speaking briefly to media persons outside the venue, the producer said the team plans to release the film immediately after receiving the final certificate.

Movie Yet to Release Despite Earlier Announcement

The film was originally expected to arrive in theatres in January 2026. However, even after several months, the release has not happened due to issues linked to the certification process.

Industry reports suggest the movie underwent screening before the CBFC committee late last year, where a few changes and cuts were reportedly suggested. After modifications were made, the film was submitted once again.

Later, objections raised over some scenes allegedly pushed the project to a revising committee, adding more delay to the release timeline.

The postponement reportedly created challenges for distributors and overseas release plans. During the long wait, leaked clips and piracy concerns also surfaced online.

Vijay Congratulated by Film Team

After Vijay’s massive political win, KVN Productions shared a congratulatory message on social media, celebrating his rise to the state’s top political position.

At the ceremony, Narayana also praised Vijay and said people have strong expectations from his leadership going forward.

Vijay’s Last Film Before Full-Time Politics?

The film carries extra attention because it is widely believed to be Vijay’s final movie before focusing completely on politics.

Apart from Vijay, the cast includes Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju and Bobby Deol in major roles.

Earlier this year, Vijay had publicly questioned the delay in certification and hinted that external pressure may have played a role in slowing down the process.

Fans are now eagerly waiting for the official release date announcement once the certification formalities are completed.
